Celebrating 10 years of marriage

Today we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary, hooray!!!. According to happy-anniversary.com for the 10th year the traditional present is tin, a modern present would be aluminium and alternate modern is diamond. I decided to go for tradition and bought my wife a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates. For all of you who say “typical bloke, no imagination” I say they were a good choice because chocolates always go down well and I chose them because they are wrapped in tin foil, so she got her tin present you see.
There is a real sense of achievement in reaching this point in a marriage, you realise all the effort over the past years really was worth it.  In the card I wrote a poem that I made up, you have to read the whole thing and think what it means as a whole.  The poem said:

You are the light of my life,
The gold at the end of the rainbow,
The silver lining in my cloud,
The sting in my tail,
The thorn in my side,
The straw that broke the camels back.
Through all the ups and downs of the last 10 years
I am still glad that I chose you.

When choosing an anniversary present what it comes down to in the end is knowing your partner and what they would appreciate best.
